{"id":1272,"date":"2026-06-05T15:04:30","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T15:04:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arizonamovinginsider.com\/?p=1272"},"modified":"2026-06-05T15:04:30","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T15:04:30","slug":"crews-continue-pavement-work-on-sr-51-this-weekend-june-5-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arizonamovinginsider.com\/?p=1272","title":{"rendered":"Crews continue pavement work on SR 51 this weekend (June 5-7)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>PHOENIX \u2014 Work crews will be working beginning Friday through Sunday morning on the following closures and restrictions this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/arizonamovinginsider.com\/?p=1268\">Unidentified victim known as \u2018Castleberry Kate\u2019 in Bullhead City identified from familial DNA<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the Arizona Department of Transportation website, ADOT reported these work zones:<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/arizonamovinginsider.com\/?p=1266\">Phoenix Union High School District to add more officers in the fall<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Southbound State Route 51 closed between Indian School Road and Interstate 10<\/b> from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday\u00a0(June 8)\u00a0for pavement improvement project.\u00a0Southbound on-ramps closed at Glendale Avenue, Bethany Home Road and Highland Avenue.\u00a0\n<ul>\n<li>Detours: Consider taking Seventh or 24th streets to reach I-10 and Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) or using southbound Interstate 17 as an alternate freeway route.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Eastbound Loop 202\u00a0(Santan Freeway)\u00a0closed between Price Road and Arizona Avenue<\/b> from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday\u00a0(June 8) for widening project.\u00a0Southbound\u00a0Loop 101\u00a0(Price Freeway)\u00a0ramps to eastbound Loop 202 closed.\u00a0\n<ul>\n<li>Detours:\u00a0Alternate routes include Chandler Boulevard and Germann Road.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Northbound Interstate 17 closed between Cactus and Union Hills roads<\/b>\u00a0from 11 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday\u00a0(June 8) for overhead sign maintenance.\u00a0Northbound I-17 on-ramps closed at Dunlap and Peoria avenues.\n<ul>\n<li>Note:\u00a0Access from I-17 to east- and westbound Loop 101 will be unavailable during the closure.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Detours: Traffic can use the northbound frontage road and re-enter via Union Hills Road. Drivers may consider exiting ahead of the closure and using 19th or 35th avenues to access Loop 101.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Southbound Loop 101\u00a0(Price Freeway)\u00a0closed between Loop 202\u00a0(Red Mountain Freeway)\u00a0and US 60<\/b> from 9 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Saturday\u00a0(June 6) for pavement repairs.\n<ul>\n<li>Detour:\u00a0Consider westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) to southbound SR 143, eastbound I-10 and eastbound US 60 as an alternate freeway route.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Northbound\u00a0Loop 101\u00a0(Price Freeway)\u00a0closed between US 60 and Loop 202\u00a0(Red Mountain Freeway)<\/b>\u00a0from 9 p.m. Saturday to 2 p.m. Sunday\u00a0(June 7) for pavement repairs.\n<ul>\n<li>Detour:\u00a0Consider westbound US 60 to westbound I-10, northbound SR 143 and eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) as an alternate freeway route.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Northbound Loop 101\u00a0(Pima Freeway)\u00a0narrowed to two lanes between Shea Boulevard and Princess Drive<\/b> from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday\u00a0(June 8) for pavement improvements. Expect on- and off-ramp closures at times.
