Arsenio Dominguez, secretary-general of the International Maritime Organization, said he was informed of an attack in the Gulf of Oman and that an IMO evacuation plan would be paused \u201cuntil further clarity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeafarer safety remains paramount,\u201d Dominguez said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Lebanon\u2019s Health Ministry also reported 19 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes in the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p>The latest incidents come as Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with key allies in the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>Rubio called his meetings with Gulf countries \u201creally good,\u201d saying the U.S. and its allies agreed on a way to keep Gulf nations informed about talks surrounding the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran.<\/p>\n<p><b>RELATED STORY | <\/b><b>Trump and Iran sign ceasefire agreement, including $300B for Iran&#8217;s reconstruction<\/b><\/p>\n<p>He also said the countries were clear that there is no support for tolls or fees in the Strait of Hormuz, an idea Iran has pushed throughout the conflict.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/arizonamovinginsider.com\/?p=2384\">Special session could be called for ESA reforms, repeal of ballot measures<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s an international waterway,\u201d Rubio said. \u201cThere isn\u2019t a nation on Earth that supports having to pay money to go through the straits.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That position was reflected in a joint statement from the United States and Gulf Cooperation Council members, which emphasized free and unrestricted navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and rejected any tolls or fees. Iranian officials also rejected the idea that the United States would control the use of any unfrozen Iranian assets to purchase goods from American farmers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmerica falsely claims our unfrozen assets will buy their agriculture. But apparently the U.S. only exports GMO soybeans, broken promises and trash talk,\u201d Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said.<\/p>\n<p>A U.S. official said no frozen Iranian funds have left the account set up for the assets, and none will be released unless Iran meets the requirements outlined in the memorandum of understanding.
