TEMPE, AZ — Fire crews battled a double house fire in Tempe on Tuesday evening.
Tempe fire says they were originally called out for a house fire near Loop 101 and University Drive around 6:30 p.m.

First responders arrived and found the fire spreading to a second home.
All residents were able to get out of the homes safely, but officials have confirmed that one dog died in the fire.

What caused the fire is not known, but it is under investigation.
