Bicyclist killed in hit-and-run crash near Cave Creek and Greenway roads on Tuesday morning

PHOENIX — A deadly hit-and-run crash involving a bicyclist near a busy north Phoenix intersection is under investigation on Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred around 6 a.m. near Cave Creek and Greenway roads.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a bicyclist who was in critical condition at the scene. The victim, who has not yet been identified, was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash did not stay at the scene, but was later located and taken into custody, police say.

The intersection is currently shut down due to the investigation, and there is no known time of reopening.
