SURPRISE, AZ — Two men are dead after a shooting involving Surprise police officers Saturday evening.

It happened near Reems and Greenway roads around 6:30 p.m.
Police say that a man and his father were involved in an argument, and multiple shots were heard.
“When our officers arrived, they made entry, and that is when the officer-involved shooting occurred,” police said.
A man, identified as 37-year-old Brandon Garcia, was struck by gunfire and died at the scene. Later, Surprise police also located the man’s father, 63-year-old Ruben Garcia, who was also deceased, inside the home.

Officials say there is no outstanding threat to the community, and no officers were injured.
This is the second officer-involved shooting this week. On Thursday, a “wanted felon” was shot and killed by Phoenix police near Interstate 17 and Pinnacle Peak Road.
Police say this is the first officer-involved shooting in the city of Surprise this year.
