MARANA, AZ — Officials say the body of a student was discovered on campus at Marana High School on Tuesday.

Just before 7 a.m., police responded to the campus for a death investigation. Due to the situation, all classes were canceled for the day.
Marana police officials say at around 1:30 a.m. an individual broke into the campus and was later discovered by staff.
Officers arrived and located the person, who had already died. Details surrounding the cause of death have not been provided.

Police identified the individual as a Marana High School student. The next of kin has been notified; however, the student’s name has not been released.
Police say it appears to be an isolated incident involving a single person, and there is no ongoing danger to the public.
School administration says, “All staff who had reported to work are safe, and the campus is secure and closed while law enforcement conducts their investigation.”
