Monsoon moisture increases through the first half of the week, bringing even better storm chances across the state.
Daily thunderstorm activity will continue over northern, eastern and southeastern Arizona through at least midweek, keeping the potential for blowing dust and elevated pollution levels in play in the Valley.
As storm chances go up, so does the chance for strong winds, blowing dust, heavy rain and dangerous lightning, so stay weather-aware.
Flooding will also be a concern, especially in southern Arizona, where a Flood Watch is in effect today.

An Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect for the Colorado River Valley, but the Phoenix metro will finally get some relief from the extreme heat.
Temperatures will gradually trend down through the middle of the week, with near or just below normal readings expected.
Drier air then moves in by the end of the week, limiting storm chances as temperatures heat back up once again.
