PHOENIX — The Valley is waking up to another round of dust this morning.
Overnight storms in southern Arizona sent outflow winds sweeping through the Phoenix metro after midnight, pushing air quality to Unhealthy to Hazardous levels.

Conditions have improved slightly from the peak levels early this morning, but similar to Tuesday, elevated dust and particle pollution could actually increase again until around midday before easing up.
A High Pollution Advisory is in effect today for both smoke and dust, so if you or someone you know has asthma, COPD, or other respiratory concerns, it’s worth limiting outdoor time.
On top of the dust, the Extreme Heat Warning in the Valley remains in effect through Sunday, with temperatures topping 110 degrees in Phoenix. Our ABC15 Weather Action Days continue as a reminder to stay safe in this dangerous heat.

Limit your time outside, drink plenty of water, and bring pets inside. Never leave kids or pets in the car.
Monsoon storms this week will mainly stay in the high country and southeastern Arizona, though the Valley holds a slight chance from Thursday through the weekend.
More monsoon moisture moves in by the latter part of the weekend, raising storm chances early next week.
